Considered the last Lombard\u00a0<\/span>Divisionist<\/span>, due to acquaintance in his youth with Alberto\u00a0<\/span>Grubicy<\/span>\u00a0de Dragon, who also supported him as a patron, with Carlo\u00a0<\/span>Fornara<\/span>\u00a0and participation in the\u00a0<\/span>Divisionist<\/span>\u00a0Group at the first Rome Biennale in 1921,\u00a0<\/span>Vanni<\/span>\u00a0Rossi was also influenced by the symbolist mysticism of Gaetano\u00a0<\/span>Previati<\/span>\u00a0when he embraced the great tradition of sacred mural\u00a0<\/span>painting, aiming over time to define his own golden formula, in opposition to current trends. Regularly present with his easel paintings at artists\u2019 reviews in Italy – from the Venice Biennale to the Permanente in Milan – and occasionally in wider Europe, he thus became a protagonist of religious art, painting frescoes in a large number of churches and sanctuaries with untiring dedication to artistic practice and its meanings.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Self-Portrait<\/span><\/i>\u00a0presents us with the impression of the spiritual afflatus that was part of his artistic mission.
